The Importance of Information Technology

Let's start with this equation IT = HW + SW

In the world of Information Technology, HardWare and SoftWare are inseparable partners in this digital world. They complement each other to have a powerful function when working together.

Hardware is the physical infrastructures that forms the fundamental structure that supports the functionality of software. These are the devices that we can touch and see.  It serves as the backbone of every device we used every day. While Software, refers to intangible elements that control and manage the hardware components of a system. These are the programs or application installed in the system to perform specific task.

When we think of a technology, the first things that comes into our mind are usually the devices we use every day in our lives such as mobile phones and personal computer. These machines cannot function without its own hardware and software. With the help of these devices, we can easily access information through the internet by using the application installed. The website and application, we access in our personal devices there is network of servers and data centers that process and store data. These facilities have powerful enormous hardware to provide us efficient and fast speed.

As an employee and working from home, technology plays a vital role in my daily lives by providing tools that are necessary for remote work. It helps me deliver my work fast and efficient. I can collaborate with my officemates through teams and zoom. I can work anywhere because I can access the office files, documents and the systems.  Through the technology, I am still connected, productive and efficient of my task similar working in the office every day.

The innovation of technology is shaping and transforming us the way we live, interact and work but behind that equation above to function, let's us not forget that there is PEOPLEWARE.
